The Bank of Russia urged banks to lift the limit on the daily volume of transfers between bank accounts “as soon as possible.” This was reported by the regulator’s press service.
On May 1, a law came into force in Russia allowing free transfers of up to 30 million rubles per month between accounts at different banks. However, some banks have introduced their own limits and do not allow transfers of more than 2 million rubles per day.
“The Bank of Russia recommends that banks ensure compliance with the conditions of the law as soon as possible,” the Central Bank noted.
Sberbank published the transfer conditions on its website and noted that you can transfer up to 30 million rubles per day between your accounts if you use biometric data. The restrictions introduced were explained for security reasons.
