One of them said that developers are focusing on the niche of portable game consoles, which is now occupied by Valve, Asus, Lenovo and MSI, which produce similar devices for about $600-700.

In parallel, work is underway on devices based on dual-processor platforms: x86 (most often used in desktop computers and laptops) and ARM (such chips are in demand in tablets and smartphones), interlocutors of the publication noted.

Experts believe that the success of the project depends not only on who will manufacture the console and what operating system it will use, but also on the quality of the games, as well as their professional promotion.

  • Russia has proposed creating a registry of imported video games. The measure will strengthen the fight against counterfeiting. The idea belongs to the Russian Association of Video Game Distributors and Importers. The list will include all distributors of game titles “approved primarily in terms of content.”
  • The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation is ready to consider RADI’s proposal on labeling to combat gray imports on the market. It is proposed to apply marks to goods at the stage between import and sale to a retailer.
