The new 12-core ARM processor Snapdragon X Elite was tested in Geekbench, and on different laptops.
In the single-core test it scores an average of 2200-2500 points, in the multi-core test no more than 14 thousand. The results were much lower than expected.
For comparison, the MacBook Pro M3 with Pro (it also has 12 cores) scores an average of 3 thousand points in the single-core test and 15 thousand in the multi-core test. Of course, if you compare the Snapdragon X Elite with the base 8-core M3, then everything is not so clear. A MacBook Pro with M3 shows about 3 thousand in the single-core test and 11.5 thousand in the multi-core test on Geekbench.
But these are past processors. The new M4 chip will even outperform the Snapdragon X Elite even in modifications. The 10-core M4 scores 3700 points in the single-core test and 14.5 thousand in the multi-core test.
Microsoft said the Snapdragon X Elite laptops will be 58% faster than the M3-equipped MacBook Air. But in reality everything turned out differently. The numbers that Qualcomm puts out aren’t bad, but they’re no better than Apple’s processors.
