According to Interfax, the defendants in this case, in addition to Makfa herself, were 33 legal entities and 13 natural persons. On May 8, a Chelyabinsk court accepted the general’s demand to confiscate Makfa’s assets, estimated at approximately 46 billion rubles, for state revenue. The company itself and the shareholders decided to appeal the decision.
As lawyer Vyacheslav Plahotniuc told the agency, the defendants insisted that “the judicial decision on nationalization has not only been made, but has already been executed.”
The lawyer clarified that all companies mentioned in the lawsuit, including Makfa JSC, Smak JSC and First Bread Factory JSC, have moved to the Russian Federation.
“Today documents have been submitted to the court according to which the VTB registrar transferred shares to the personal accounts of the Federal Property Management Agency,” Plahotniuc said.
The Attorney General’s complaint against Makfe and its affiliated companies is related to corporate corruption.
On May 17, the management company M-Group LLC – Makfy Management Company – was transferred to the Federal Property Management Agency.
