Praktika.ai is a service where you can use artificial intelligence to create an individual “avatar” that will imitate a real teacher. These “avatars” adapt the lessons to the needs of each student. They can speak with different accents.
According to the company’s own data, the application is used by 1.2 million people per month in one hundred different countries. In the last 12 months, the company’s revenue is around $20 million.
To continue growing, the project closed a Series A financing round, with Blossom Capital as the main investor. According to TechCrunch, the company previously raised $2.5 million from Creator Ventures and Blue Wire Capital.
According to Adam Turaev, Praktika is the only language learning app that uses tone of voice and simulates communication with real people.
“We use GPT-4, GP Turbo, Gemini, Claude and Mistral. We are also experimenting with different variations of their models. We have collected a large amount of training data and continue to develop the application. We have terabytes of data on human-AI interactions. We use anonymous data to strengthen the models,” explained Turaev.
In early 2017, Turaev and Chernyakov launched the artificial intelligence startup Cleverbots. The company specializes in artificial intelligence consulting and chatbot creation for companies. In 2020, the project raised $1 million from the AST group of agribusiness companies.
