Redwood Materials with Ultium Cells LLC, a battery recycling joint venture between GM and South Korea’s LG Energy Solution, a subsidiary of LG Chem and a major lithium-ion battery supplier to Audi, Mercedes-Benz and GM It will work.

All materials obtained during processing will be provided to “multiple partners” Redwood Materials and Ultium Cells LLC to create new batteries. The joint venture is expected to produce 80 GWh of battery cells per year at its two facilities in Warren, Ohio and Spring Hill, Tennessee. A third facility located in Michigan is currently under construction.
