Today, two main trends determine the development of the economy: digital and ESG transformation. Tatyana Zavyalova, Sberbank’s senior vice president for ESG, spoke about this at the Digital Industry of Industrial Russia (CIPR) conference. She emphasized that the green technology market is growing rapidly and one of the factors is the development and use of artificial intelligence (AI) in sustainable development.
Technology development is uneven and many companies do not have the technological foundation necessary for their development. Therefore, this year Sber plans to conduct a foresight (expert assessment of development prospects) on green technologies with the aim of assessing the usability of such technologies and determining how and where they can be effectively applied. Sber is also trying to create an open library of services based on artificial intelligence to solve sustainable development problems.
Zavyalova emphasized the importance of cooperation in this field and invited other interested parties to join the project. Thanks to such studies, it is possible to maximize the contribution of artificial intelligence to the solution of social and environmental problems.
