A new fact-checking feature has appeared in the source code of the beta version of Telegram for Android, notes the Durov Code publication. The functionality is designed to verify the accuracy of information.

From the changes in the code it follows that, as part of Fact Check, the courier will begin to cooperate with agencies specialized in verifying information. These agencies will be able to elect state governments.

It should be noted that Fact Check will add explanations to messages. Regular users will not influence the information provided by Fact Check.

In early May, Telegram founder Pavel Durov accused rival messenger Signal of working for US intelligence agencies.
