The amendments affect the main types of direct taxes: personal income tax (NDFL), corporate income tax, as well as mineral extraction tax (MET) and the simplified tax system (STS).
It is assumed that the innovations will be able to be adopted by the State Duma during this spring session, which will last until August 5 and come into force on January 1, 2025.
Starting in 2020, income tax for IT companies was reduced from 20% to 3%, and in 2022 reset to zero before end 2024 to support the market in the context of sanctions.
In 2023, the Ministry of Digital Development proposed an indefinite zeroing of income tax for IT companies. The text of the bill states that tax benefits now apply specifically to developers, but not to companies engaged in the maintenance of IT systems, as well as information security.
