A SpOTTO robot is now on duty at the BMW plant in the UK.
It is equipped with cameras, as well as thermal and sound sensors. With their help, the robot monitors plant equipment. It can detect equipment overheating and compressed air leaks. In the future, it will be able to read data from devices with appropriate control.
SpOTTO was developed by Boston Dynamics specifically for BMW. For the basis, we took the robotic dog Spot and added new sensors to it.

The name SpOTTO was not chosen by chance. Gustav Otto was one of the co-founders of BMW and the son of Nikolaus Otto, who invented the four-stroke engine.
BMW’s Hams Hall plant employs 1,600 people. More than 400 thousand watches are produced here every year. [Just-Auto]
