The Federal Antimonopoly Service of the Russian Federation (FAS) has identified a map of sellers of wireless headphones on marketplaces.
In the period from 2023 to 2024, they communicated with each other in instant messengers on issues of competition and fighting competitors. Sellers simultaneously raised prices, monitored compliance with agreements and discussed the application of sanctions against those who did not support negotiations.
In particular, they bought goods from bona fide entrepreneurs who refused to participate in negotiations, organized delivery to delivery points in remote regions and other countries, but did not purchase the goods. In addition, the ratings of competitors on large marketplaces were artificially lowered through negative reviews.
FAS has already opened a case. If the sellers are found guilty, they will face fines. [ФАС]
