Let the person who has never sent a WhatsApp message that needs correction cast the first stone. Happily, messaging app has option to edit sent text to someone or a group.

If you are wondering how this works, I will explain in the following lines how to edit a message in WhatsApp. Check out!

How to edit messages on WhatsApp?

1. Enter the chat where you sent the message you want to edit;

2. During the conversation, press and hold your finger on the text you want to edit and if you are using Android, click on the three dots that appear in the upper right corner. If you’re on iOS, simply tap and hold on the message to find the edit;

3. Select option To edit Change your message in the box that opens and then click. To send.

How long can the message be changed?

If you need to make changes to any message you sent, This option is only available for up to 15 minutes after the text is sent. It is not possible to make any changes after this period.

If this time has passed and the person or group has not yet viewed the message, the most practical option is to delete the text and rewrite it. However, it is also worth noting that messages have a maximum of 48 hours after they are sent to be deleted.

Does WhatsApp notify you when a message is edited?

The answer to this question is yes. If you make any changes to a message, the app will leave a “message edited” alert next to the time your message was sent.

However, after the change is made, the person or group members will not be able to access what was previously written.

We hope this content helped you explore a little more the features available on WhatsApp. Also take the opportunity to learn about how to view and not view WhatsApp status. To the next one!
