“We’re excited to confirm that Game Pass subscribers will be able to start playing Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on day one of launch,” Game Pass Senior Community Lead Megan Spurr said on the official Xbox Wire blog.

This confirmation comes after numerous questions from players regarding the inclusion of the Call of Duty series in Microsoft subscriptions.

In early May, the company discussed whether new Call of Duty releases would be added to Game Pass. Some company employees expressed concerns that sales revenue could decrease if the game was offered via subscription.

Call of Duty traditionally sells around 20 million copies a year, making this issue particularly important for Activision and Microsoft.

But the inclusion of Black Ops 6 in Game Pass was a significant step for the subscription service, which offers gamers the opportunity to play one of the most popular game series for free since its launch.
