Insiders say that in the new version users will have to say goodbye to static text messages. iMessage iOS 18 can let you animate individual words in a sentence.
For example, you send the words “Happy Birthday” or “Happy” and they explode in a shower of confetti, or “Congratulations” highlighted by flashing fireworks. MacRumors writes about this.
While iMessage currently limits fancy effects to iPhone users, Apple’s confirmation of support for RCS messaging in iOS 18 raises the possibility that the new text effects can also be sent and viewed on Android devices. RCS (Rich Communication Services) is a messaging standard that aims to bridge the gap between SMS and iMessage functionality.
It is also assumed that iMessage in iOS 18 will be able to take advantage of Apple’s growing capabilities in the field of artificial intelligence. The official reveal of iOS 18 is expected at WWDC (Apple Worldwide Developers Conference) on June 10.
We previously reported that Apple would launch an AI assistant to transcribe and take notes in meetings and conferences.
