Russian electronics developer and manufacturer Rikor will launch production of computer cases at the end of 2024. The workshop will be built on the basis of the company’s facilities in Arzamas. Investments in the project will amount to about 400 million rubles, the recovery of which is planned in four years. Sergei Kupriyanov, vice president of trade at the Rikor group, told Vedomosti.

Cases will be produced not only for Rikor devices, but also for other Russian electronics manufacturers. The plastic for the cases will be purchased abroad, and the metal – in Russia.
The maximum production capacity will reach 1 million boxes per year. This will cover the needs of approximately 35% of the entire Russian market. That is, according to Rikor, the domestic market needs about 2.9 million buildings per year, Kupriyanov estimates.
According to experts, the localization of housing production will improve the equipment score according to the “domesticity” evaluation of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. For using a Russian case, the manufacturer will receive 20 points in the overall product localization score, said a representative of IT holding Fplus.
In this case, the score to pass a PC is 140, while the scores for 2025 have not yet been approved, added Svetlana Legostaeva, general director of the Computer Science consortium.
