JD Power has released its annual Car Quality Survey. Tesla and Polestar electric cars took the last places.
In 2022, the quality of cars fell by 11% compared to 2021. This is the biggest drop the company has ever recorded.
With so many problems that automakers and their dealers have had to face in the past year, it’s somewhat surprising that quality hasn’t dropped even further.

The review included 84,165 buyers who purchased vehicles for the 2022 model year. During the survey, it was necessary to answer 223 questions from 9 categories.
The car quality rating was topped by: Buick, Dodge and Chevrolet. Tesla and Polestar made the list of concepts but didn’t make it to the rankings because JD Power didn’t request your information, unlike other automakers. Genesis ranked first among premium automakers.
JD Power is pushing the challenges of EVs and hybrids more than motor-detection cars.
Multimedia systems have shown the most problematic area. Drivers often lack USB, and also have problems with touch screens, CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. At the same time, CarPlay users experience fewer problems than owners of Android smartphones with Android Auto. [The Verge]
