Experts said that during the study, genetic material samples were taken from 15 patients. It turned out that the mutation accelerated 6-12 times more than expected values. This suggests that the virus has developed a new way to infect humans. What are these methods, there is no definitive answer yet, but it is currently known that the pathogen is transmitted between people through airborne droplets or through close contact with an infected person.

The scientists noted that some of the mutations detected affect the human immune system, particularly enzymes such as APOBEC3. These enzymes are involved in the neutralization of viruses – they cause errors when copying genetic material. Experts believe the virus may circulate in small quantities among local human populations or spread among animals in other countries.
