The Wall Street Journal reports that Apple has finally decided to fix one of the old iOS bugs.

Children who are allowed to browse browser sites using Screen Time are pasting characters into the address bar in Safari to bypass parental controls. The WSJ’s Joanna Stern says she was able to use a range of emoji on her son’s iPad, bypassing restrictions that lead to access to websites with pornography, war footage and more. She managed to bypass this feature on devices running iOS and iPadOS 15, 16 and 17, as well as macOS Sonoma.

The experts interviewed said that the error was first reported in 2021. Apple ignored the problem for a long time, but everything changed after it became known to journalists.

According to Stern, the bug should be fixed in future software updates.
