The proportion of counterfeits of foreign-made electronics in circulation, according to legal technology company IQ Technology, is at least 30% in the smartphone and laptop segments and continues to grow.

Labeling of devices will help significantly reduce illegal trafficking and ensure transparency and quality of products, Dmitry Gorelik, director of industrial labeling at the CRPT, told TASS.

  • The “Honest Sign” product labeling system has been implemented in Russia since 2018 and the goal of the project is to combat counterfeiting. Labeling is now mandatory, among others, for medicines, cigarettes, mineral water, dairy products and many other categories.
