Apple has released the first beta versions of iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 for developers.

Preparing the device

Before installing iOS 18 or iPadOS 18 We advise you to make a backup restoration of the device. This is necessary just in case something goes wrong during installation, or you decide to roll back to stable firmware.

The system may not install the first time.

iOS 18 backup is not compatible with iOS 17 and other older groups.

How to create a backup on your device

1. Open Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → iCloud Backup

2. Turn on the toggle switch iCloud backupbutton press Create a backup form and wait for the process to complete

How to create a device backup in Windows

1. Connect your iPhone or iPad to your computer via wire and connect iTunes

2. Select the top part of the program in the section of your phone.

3. In chapter Automatic creation of copies choose This computer

4. Click Create a form now and wait for the backup to complete

How to Backup Your Device on Mac

1. Connect your iPhone or iPad to your computer via wire and Finder

2. Select your device from the side menu

3. In chapter Backups choose Back up everything on this Mac and press the button Create a backup now

4. Now we just have to wait for the process to complete

Installing iOS 18

1. Opens Settings → General → Software Update and select to the top Beta updates.

2. Close this menu and open the item again Software Update -> download iOS 18.

Important: if you have run out of Mandates with beta versions, you need to re-enter the menu several times Software Update and select iOS 18 Developer beta.

After this, the firmware is created.
