Yandex projects related to unmanned technologies will be developed in a single direction under the Autonomous Transportation brand. We are talking about unmanned vehicles and delivery robots.

As a source told TASS, the company will develop unmanned projects under a common brand. For this, Yandex filed an application with Rospatent for the “Automobile Transport” trademark.
The direction of autonomous transportation will focus on both software development and components. According to the agency’s interlocutor, all work is done in Moscow and most of the components and software were created within the company.
The company has been developing autonomous driving technologies since 2017. In 2018, Yandex conducted the first tests of unmanned vehicles.
The first delivery robot was developed in 2019 and in 2020 the company created a division to combine knowledge.
In May, Yandex announced that it was technically ready to launch mass production of delivery robots. In this case, a volume of 100 robots per month is considered serial production.
