Deputy Minister of Economic Development Dmitry Vakhrukov spoke about this after a meeting of the Subcommittee on Cooperation in the Field of Tourism, which took place at the IV Russian Tourism Forum “Travel!” in Moscow. He noted that at the end of 2023 the tourist flow between Russia and Uzbekistan almost doubled, up to 1.2 million trips, a figure higher than pre-pandemic indicators. In the first quarter of 2024, it grew another 20%.

“Increasing the availability of tourist travel will help our countries stimulate the growth of mutual tourist flow. To achieve this, we have developed a bill to reduce the financial burden on tour operators. We will support those who sell tourism products in friendly countries, including Uzbekistan,” says Vajrukov.

The meeting discussed the implementation of the main points of the tourism cooperation program signed in May by the presidents of Russia and Uzbekistan. Joint tourism products, transport accessibility, payments, marketing initiatives and educational projects in the field of training tourism personnel of both countries are presented here. At the moment, the main task is to begin the practical implementation of all activities.

The parties have already begun to actively use digital platforms for booking hotels and apartments, established interaction between banks within the framework of the “Tourist Card” project, participated in the creation of the Eurasian Alliance of Mountain Resorts, which includes the Rosa Khutor resort. from Russia and Amirsoy from the Russian side.
