What is the cartoon about?: This special edition of the animated franchise consists of three stories, the story of which follows the new adventure of the rich Rei. Viewers will see the investigation of the Notice of the Princely Crown, the epic battle of wits between Konyom Julius and Alyosha, as well as the rescue of friends from the magical world of dreams.
The release of the new cartoon is timed to coincide with a double anniversary: the 20th anniversary of the “Three Heroes” franchise and the 25th anniversary of the “Melnitsa” animation studio. The decision to release the cartoon in the summer was unusual, because the Melnitsa studio’s releases were released on New Year’s Eve. This step is driven by the desire to make more profit in the summer and take advantage of the lack of competition in the market.
Let us recall that the previous, rather mediocre, series “Three Heroes and the Puppy of the Earth” was released in December and became the highest-grossing documentary animation project, collecting more than 1 billion rubles. Perhaps this success prompted the studio to release an additional cartoon outside the usual graphics.
Moreover, the gorgeous “Inside Out 2” from Pixar is in limited release, and, as we have already said, “Three Heroes” has competition this week. “Not a day without a feat,” there are no words at all.
The stories are boring, the humor is insipid, the animation has arrived
We will not reveal the plots of each story, they are already very brief. Let’s just say that the first one is warm and family-friendly, the most sincere and successful of the three. The second is a tired premise about a stupid character who suddenly becomes smart, respected and hackneyed, adding nothing new and only emphasizing the lack of fresh ideas.
The third turns out to be an interesting approach to everyday life, but here too there seems to be a certain cliché – children will like it, adults will be bored.
By the way, why the authors didn’t make three drafts of history for each hero is a rhetorical question. This move seemed logical. As a result, Dobrynya Nikitich is left without her own story.
The animation, while still bright and colorful, barely changes the transformation. It feels like the drawing has been made a little simpler; before there were more details. Personally, we want something new, more modern.
Moreover, within the framework of a small almanac, it was possible to experiment with each graphic and present a different vision of the animators for the story. As, for example, this was done in the same “Puzzle 2”. Why not diversify this franchise? But this is another rhetorical question into the void.
It seems that the Melnitsa studio simply does not want to keep up with the times, preferring to preserve the old style. Maybe it’s time?
The humor in cartoons is simple and accessible, which is surprising. Flat jokes aimed at children do not make adults laugh. It’s a far cry from the wit and sophistication that was praised as early entries in the franchise.
The music, frankly speaking, does not represent anything new, it simply fulfills the atmosphere and creates the Russian style.

“Three heroes. “Not a day without a feat” is a clear step back for the franchise. The desire to make even more money from successful episodes led to a decrease in the number of new ideas in scripts and the quality of humor. The cartoon, which could be a worthy sequel, looks like just a pale shadow of its predecessors.
For fans of the series and their children, viewing can still be enjoyable, especially if the cartoon is viewed as light entertainment and not as a continuation of a beloved classic.
If you’re expecting something new and exciting with a premise for the younger generation, this isn’t the case. Trite, profitable, boring. Maybe it’s time to try new main characters? This is another useless rhetorical question.
As a result, our advice is to go see the brilliant “Puzzle 2” instead. There is no need to feed children fakes.
The Melnitsa studio demands that this almanac be released immediately on one of the Russian streaming platforms. But, as they say in a Russian saying, “Credit blinds the eyes.” It is worth paying more attention to the quality of your products before releasing them to the market. We pass by.
