Sberbank’s claim against Sberbank CIB is related to the credit institution’s attempt to collect debt on four loans: 20.8 million euros, 2.35 million pounds, 2.5 million and 4.9 million dollars Canadians, as well as interests and sanctions. The loans were issued on February 28, 2022.
Funds from Sberbank CIB worth $107 million are blocked in the Russian Sberbank, while the net obligations of the British structure to the parent company are estimated at $95 million, according to a report by external manager Teneo Financial Advisory.
The structure itself is currently in the stage of liquidating operations and special management has been introduced in the bank.
Sberbank has been under sanctions from the United Kingdom, the United States and the European Union since 2022.
