Before jogging (20-30 minutes before the start) you should eat a few simple carbohydrates. These can be bagels, toast, fruit, chewy candies.

As for the post-run protein and carbohydrate combination, it is recommended to consume 0.3 g of protein per kilogram of body weight and two to three times that amount of carbohydrates. If you run for 90 minutes or longer, eat before, during and after.
