Odnoklassniki began automatically blurring erotic images and GIF files that were in the feed and comments. Users’ beach photos, photos of athletes and statues will not be blurry. This was reported by RB.RU in the press service of the social network.

To do this, the company conducted a survey among its users and found out which images they considered objectionable. Using this data, OK engineers trained machine learning models to automatically detect and blur such content.
In total, OK used more than 6 million files and developed two ML models. The first scans the image and determines the content, the second assigns the content to a certain type, so it remains or appears blurry. If the user still wants to see said image, they must click on it.
