Scientists from Novosibirsk State Technical University NETI modernized a device for analyzing milk, improving its mechanical and software parts. These improvements will significantly speed up the laboratory diagnostic processes required to verify the quality of dairy products and bring them to market. This was reported by the press service of the university.

During the modernization, the aim was to automate the main processes of milk analysis, increasing the efficiency of the equipment by two to three times. Additionally, automation gives laboratory technicians 40 minutes to perform other tasks.

In the updated device, the cassette containing milk samples is heated to the required temperature, after which the robot automatically mixes each sample and sends it to a special cell for measurement. The device analyzes milk based on 14 parameters, including fat content, lactose, protein and casein content. The measurement results are displayed on the screen of the on-board computer, which also controls all processes in the housing.

Scientists emphasized that modernization of the device significantly reduces the role of the human factor in the milk analysis process, reducing the possibility of operator error. This increases the objectivity and reliability of the results obtained, making the device a valuable tool for certification of dairy products.
