Summer months are often accompanied by rain and water trips; This can be a problem for those who accidentally lose their smartphones to rain or water. MTS expert Natalya Golitsyna shared tips on how to quickly register a gadget in such a situation.

If your smartphone is underwater, it is important to turn it off immediately and not try to turn it on to avoid short circuiting. Then, carefully remove the water using a soft cloth or paper towel.

If your device allows it, remove the battery and SIM card as soon as possible and dry them separately. Do not use a hair dryer or other heating devices to accelerate drying; This may damage the electronics inside the smartphone. You should also avoid exposing your phone to direct sunlight to avoid damaging the device due to high temperatures.

Once the smartphone is visually dry, it should be left for several hours or even days to dry completely. You can then try turning on the device and checking its functionality. If after all measures the smartphone does not turn on or is unstable, it is recommended to contact a service center for professional help. The earlier the drying and testing process begins, the more likely it is that the device and its functionality will be recorded.
