A group of LDPR deputies, headed by party leader Leonid Slutsky, proposed not to punish workers for being late due to heat and bad weather. Weather conditions will be determined by the government. The bill will be submitted to the State Duma on July 3, RIA Novosti reports.

The document notes that severe weather conditions are considered “force majeure circumstances” and “cannot serve as a basis” for taking disciplinary measures against an employee. Article 192 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation is proposed to be amended.
The MPs also classify heat above +28.5 degrees as severe weather conditions. In their opinion, at such temperatures the working day should be shortened by one hour, as required by current legislation.
