The RK3588S offers more ports than the BCM2711 Pi CM4, adding a 100-pin header with USB 3.0, SATA III, CAN Bus and optional PCIe 2.0 x1.
Key features include two Cortex-A76 and four Cortex-A55 cores, an Arm Mali-G610 MP4 GPU, and video capabilities that support 8K decoding and encoding. The CM5 also has a 6 TOPS NPU for AI tasks.
The CM5 can be purchased from Aliexpress for between $70 and $119, depending on the amount of RAM, and is expected to be available on Amazon soon.
