This discovery opens up new opportunities for the creation of neuroprosthetics aimed at restoring brain function in neurodegenerative diseases such as epilepsy, dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.

The system developed by UNN scientists makes it possible to simulate and trigger the electrical activity of the hippocampus, which contributes to the formation of memory and the ability to learn in the brain. This is the first registered and successfully tested technology in Russia that restores hippocampal activity, the press service noted.

The development is based on the Arduino Uno platform, which provides flexibility and accuracy in adjusting the parameters of neurosignals and allows you to effectively control the electrical activity of the brain to restore its functions.
