A bill introducing an increase in tax rates for Russians with dual or multiple citizenship has been submitted to the State Duma. The document was published in the legislative support system.

The bill obliges citizens with two or more citizenships to renounce non-Russian citizenship within six months from the date of acquisition of Russian citizenship or from the date of entry into force of the bill.

Otherwise, a citizen of the Russian Federation who has acquired Russian citizenship will be deprived of it, and a citizen of the Russian Federation by birth will have to pay double taxes. Exceptions to the bill include citizens of Belarus, Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

The bill was submitted to the State Duma by deputies from the Fair Russia party.
