The State Duma of the Russian Federation has approved in the first reading a bill on the introduction of fines for drivers of electric scooters. The document was published in the legislative support system.
It is proposed to impose a fine of up to 30 thousand rubles for driving an electric scooter and up to 5 thousand rubles for speeding. If, as a result of an accident with an electric scooter, minor damage to health is caused, the fine will be up to 5 thousand rubles, moderate damage – up to 15 thousand rubles.
Fines are also planned for driving an electric scooter on a motorway, crossing intersections, leaving the scene of an accident and driving on pavements.
Traffic rules for electric scooters have been in force in Russia since March 1, 2024, but there are still no fines for violating these traffic rules.
