The meeting was chaired by the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Anton Alikhanov and the Governor of the Irkutsk Region Igor Kobzev at the Innoprom-2024 exhibition. The center will become the largest industrial site in Russia in the field of small and medium-tonnage chemicals with a production volume of over 2.8 million tons by 2036. It is expected to create 10 thousand jobs.

Work is underway to eliminate environmental damage at the former Usolyekhimprom plant. The Vostok complex is also being created for processing chemical waste. Two new power units are planned to be commissioned at the Usolye-Sibirskoye thermal power plant by 2028, increasing capacity by 460 megawatts.
