Founded in Silicon Valley and later relocated to Nashville, Tennessee, during the pandemic, Girls in Tech has reached more than 250,000 people through 35 locations in 30 countries. The organization has created an “ecosystem” through “mentorship programs, hackathons, bootcamps, conferences, and various educational initiatives.”

Gascoigne expressed sadness at the closure of the organization, but stressed that despite Girls in Tech ceasing its operations, its mission “will continue through other channels.” She called on supporters to continue to advocate for “women in tech” so that “the fight against inequality continues with the same determination and passion.”
