It has been 2,687 days since its release on March 3, 2017, surpassing the previous record holder, the Famicom, which had a lifespan of 2,686 days and has no successors.

Since the 80s of the last century, with the release of the Famicom, the intervals between the release of new devices from the company have been gradually shortening, until the previous bestseller of the brand, the Wii, lasted almost 6 years until the release of the Wii U.

The failed Wii U waited just 1,566 days for its successor, which is exactly how long it took for the Switch to launch.

Remember that the Switch still has something to strive for – the absolute record holder for the brand is the portable Game Boy, which has existed for 4,352 days before the launch of the Game Boy Advance.

It is worth recalling that Nintendo has confirmed the release of the new console before the end of March 2025.
