According to the Moscow Investigative Committee, a criminal case is being investigated for an offence under Part 1 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (provision of services that do not meet the requirements for the safety of life and health of consumers).
“Investigators of the Moscow Investigative Committee have detained and charged the owner of one of the fast food establishments in accordance with Article 91 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of the Russian Federation,” the department said in a statement. It also clarifies that the accused has not indicated guilt.
According to the Investigative Committee, employees of a fast food restaurant on Dmitrovskoye Street were working illegally. No employment contracts were concluded with them.
The Mash Telegram channel wrote that migrant workers living in the Okay shelter suffered from shawarma poisoning.
Security forces have inspected three retail outlets in the area of Dmitrovskoye Highway.
In early June, Russia faced its largest outbreak of botulism since 1999. The reason was low-quality canned beans in salads from “Kitchens on the District” (LLC “LocalKitchen”).
The service has now been suspended for 90 days, and a criminal case has been initiated under Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (production and sale of products, provision of services that do not meet safety requirements) on cases of food poisoning of people.
According to him, the company’s top executives are under house arrest. One cook has been sent to a pre-trial detention centre.
