According to their research, about 10,000 people die in fires in Russia every year, and existing evacuation systems often fail to quickly and safely evacuate people from burning buildings.
The new technology uses artificial intelligence to optimize evacuation routes, allowing users to map out the most suitable escape routes using their mobile phones. The system takes into account data from fire alarm sensors about the location of the fire, the degree of smoke and other safety-critical factors. This allows routes to be dynamically adapted depending on the changing environment in the building.
This project, part of the Priority 2030 strategic academic leadership program, aims to improve the safety and efficiency of evacuations in emergency situations.
