In 2023, 86% of Russian information security startups generated revenue and 62% of them were profitable, according to the results of a study by T1 Holding.
The most popular areas within the information security segment are container and API security, biometric security, and cyberattack simulation.
“In the context of increasing cyber threats and the increase in the volume of accumulated information, tools for cryptographic and anti-virus protection of information and electronic signatures, as well as tools for administration and management of the life cycle of key media, are in special demand now,” said Artem Karanovich, head of the Digital Consulting department of the NOTA provider.
Currently, more than 800 solutions from 250 developers are registered in the National Software Registry. Year on year, the number of developers increased by 38%.
The study included startups whose revenue in 2023 did not exceed 2.5 billion rubles, whose market value did not exceed 25 billion rubles and with a staff of no more than 150 people.
