The open source drivers will include new features such as heterogeneous memory management (HMM), confidential computing, and support for Nvidia’s Grace platform consistent memory architectures. The media will install by default for GPUs compatible with these drivers, but users will be able to select “proprietary drivers” if available.
However, this transition does not apply to older GPU architectures, including Maxwell, Pascal, and Volta.
