The recovery came after a long market downturn, during which sales increased on an annual basis for the third consecutive quarter. Samsung maintained its market leadership with a 20 percent share, followed by Apple with 16 percent. Xiaomi grew the fastest among the top five brands, with a 22 percent year-on-year increase. Vivo and OPPO maintained their positions year-on-year, occupying 8 percent of the market. In China, Huawei continued its “rebirth” with a noticeable increase in overall market performance.

Interestingly, the total share of the “top five brands” decreased slightly compared to last year due to competition from resurgent brands such as Huawei, Honor, Motorola and Transsion group brands.
