In mid-July, a large-scale failure occurred in Microsoft Azure: channel transmission was stopped, airports and train stations were paralyzed, as well as emergency services.
Users have reported blue screens of death on Windows 10 devices, including dialers and TV screens. It turned out that the problem was related to an update to the corporate antivirus CrowdStrike.
The flaw affected 8.5 million devices worldwide. According to Microsoft, this is less than 1% of all devices running the Windows operating system.

The recovery tool should significantly simplify and speed up the troubleshooting process. Before its introduction, there was only a step-by-step guide that required manual intervention, which could be time-consuming, especially in organizations with hundreds or thousands of affected devices.
To use the recovery tool, the company provided detailed instructions and a list of necessary conditions. These include having at least 8 GB of free space on the affected computer, administrator rights, a BitLocker recovery key (for encrypted computers), and a bootable USB drive with at least 1 GB of capacity.
