Biogel production is organized in St. Petersburg. The gel developed by NSTU scientists consists of natural polymers of plant and animal origin, which makes it safe for fruits and the environment. A thin protective film forms on the surface of the fruit, which prolongs its freshness.

“Fructogel” can be used both in the processing of fruits directly on the branch and in the packaging stage. In the future, it is planned to study its use in preserving sliced products and dried fruits, the press service noted.
