Recent innovations include the Scan-o-Vision camera, which can take up to 40,000 photos per second, significantly speeding up the photo-finishing process. Omega has also incorporated motion sensors into athletes’ clothing, providing detailed data on metrics such as speed, acceleration and even stroke count.

Omega’s new AI systems will analyze real-time data as well as create detailed 3D models of athletes in sports such as diving and gymnastics. These models will track movement and analyze metrics previously evaluated by the human eye, such as entry velocity in diving or body angle in gymnastics.

Omega’s technology also covers tennis and pole vaulting, with systems designed to analyze a player’s reaction, racket position and the gap between the pole vaulter and the bar.

Despite these advances, Omega recognizes the need for human oversight to ensure accuracy.
