A court in the South Korean city of Suwon has spoken to a 6-year-old university graduate and former research fellow at Samsung Display who allegedly leaked information about OLED screen production in China.

The man (whose name has not been disclosed) worked at Samsung Display for more than 10 years and carefully developed OLED screens. After leaving the company, he turned to his own firm and poached other Samsung Display employees, mostly former subordinates.

In doing so, they used secret data from Samsung Display related to the production of OLED screens to create a diagram technology, which they then tried to sell to Chinese companies. All this treatment from 2018 to 2020.

The stolen information is valued at $24.5 million.

The defendant misused a regulation that the company had invested heavily in over a long period of time to develop, which could have led to serious litigation.
