During the last earnings call, Guillemot noted that major releases like GTA 6 tend to have a positive impact on the overall gaming market.
“When GTA comes out, more people start playing it and that generally has a positive impact on the market,” Guillemot said.
He also mentioned that Ubisoft has historically performed well during GTA’s launch seasons.
Ubisoft games had excellent sales in 2013, when GTA V was released. The same situation was observed in 2022 when the GTA V update was released for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
An example of this is Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, which was released a month after GTA V and achieved record sales for the series at the time.
Guillemot emphasized that even in situations where competition is high, Ubisoft focuses on delivering quality gaming experiences.
