The President of Republika Srpska, a state entity within Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milorad Dodik, has expressed interest in cooperating with Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk. According to the politician, the billionaire could invest in mining in the region.

“I am pleased with the growing interest of investors in mineral resources and mineral wealth of Republika Srpska,” Dodik wrote on his X account. “It would be interesting and useful to discuss this with Elon Musk, one of the greatest innovators of the 21st century.”

The head of the Republika Srpska also compared the billionaire to Nikola Tesla, the famous American scientist of Serbian origin.

Dodik also welcomed the signing of a memorandum on strategic raw materials between Serbia and the European Union, calling it “the path to a better and safer future.”

In an interview with Handelsblatt newspaper, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said his country plans to extract 58,000 tons of lithium a year, which will supply around 17% of the European market.
