Electric bicycles are gaining more and more popularity and began to actively develop in different directions. Hong Kong-based ENGWE’s X26 electric bike has received good support on the indiegogo platform, despite the controversial design.
The X26 model is equipped with a rear geared motor with a power of 750W (up to 1000W peak). It also uses a classic chain drive and an eight-speed Shimano cassette. Wide wheels are used, like on fat bikes – 26×4″, but cast rims are a controversial solution for off-roading.
The aluminum frame of the electric bicycle is made in an atypical way, it is foldable, and each part has a separate battery. The total mileage on them is an impressive 100 km. But the hanging cables do not add aesthetics.
The electric bike is equipped with a powerful suspension system: at the front – a two-crown fork with a travel of 150 mm, and at the rear – a pendulum suspension with a pair of shock absorbers and a mechanical shock absorber. The total weight of the product is 41 kg.
The cost of Engwe X26 for backers of the crowdfunding platform will be $1600.
