A new lawsuit filed in federal court in Northern California on Monday says Altman and Greg Brockman “assiduously manipulated Musk into co-founding their sham nonprofit” by promising that OpenAI would be safer and more transparent than for-profit alternatives. The lawsuit alleges that assurances about OpenAI’s nonprofit structure were “the hook in Altman’s long-running scam.”
