Payment operator Mastercard has planned a large-scale reorganization, as a result of which the giant will have to lay off around 3% of its employees worldwide by the end of the third quarter. This is about a thousand people.

Reuters reports on the company’s plans with reference to company representatives: according to them, Mastercard’s goal is to “redirect resources to growth areas” (entering new markets and developing key divisions in the field of cybersecurity and fraud prevention).
The company, which lost more than $30 million due to the cessation of its operations in the Russian Federation, plans to spend $190 million on the announced reorganization.
